Problems Faced in The Pandemic

 

COVID-19; the pandemic has been there in our country for a very long time and because of this pandemic, many people have lost their loved ones or even themselves. Everything was on full lockdown and everyone stayed home. My family and I also did the same. 

During the first wave we were not that much scared, we didn’t even believe that there is really a pandemic. We all considered it fake in the first wave. But during the second wave, the whole world was shaken and my family also faced problems due to it. We got so much scared because my dad got a fever during the second wave. 

We didn’t want to believe the fact that he has COVID-19, so we just gave him medications and we didn’t separate him from us because we never told him that he even had corona. At first, he just had a mild cough and fever, which improved after 3-4 days. But later, after a week, he told my mom that he had a high fever and was feeling very weak. 

My mom and everyone else got scared because we wondered why again he had a fever. My mom consulted the family doctor and he came to see my dad, then he gave medications, according to his condition. At that time Ramadan was also going on, so we all had fasts but we didn’t let Dad fast. Day by day his condition got worse as he became weaker. 

He lost so much weight. My family doctor gave us a list of tests, my brother carried my dad for those tests, and my mother was so broken inside by seeing my dad in this condition. 

The test results came and when my mother showed those results to the doctor, he told us that my dad had corona but he had a mild or a very low infection, but he told us to prepare for every situation. My brother went to the medical store to buy all the medicines and he bought an oximeter too. 

Although my father’s oxygen remained normal, we could not take any risk. Wherever we saw, in the news, on the phones, everyone was so sad and the whole world was torn apart because of this pandemic and everyone was dying because of a lack of oxygen cylinders. 

We got so scared after hearing this. We were scared for Dad; we didn’t want to lose him. He didn’t give up; he fought for his life as hard as possible. I had never seen him like this before. One day he cried in front of Mom, that he didn’t think that anything would work. We all tried everything, but his temperature didn’t get normal. 

We all were losing hope but we didn’t let him know that he had COVID-19, we all remained normal in front of him so that he doesn’t lose hope for himself. 

The situation in the world was so bad that everyone was afraid to touch each other, but we couldn’t do that to Dad, because he was already so sad and became very silent, so we all stayed in front of him and touched him normally because at that time all we ever cared for if for dad to get better and healthy. 

We didn’t let him watch the news because then he would panic, knowing the outside situation. We used to check his oxygen 3 times a day because we were so afraid that his oxygen doesn’t get affected. 

His temperature used to stay 104 degrees Celsius – 102 degrees Celsius. After facing so many problems, my father had a fever for around 15-20 days, and slowly his temperature became normal. We didn’t want to take him to the hospital because the situation was so bad at hospitals, so we took care of him at home only.

One night, he sweated so much, and then from that day, he didn’t have a fever, he just had weakness. During all this, Mom also became sick but she forgot all her sickness for dad and just took care of him. 

We all did our best to make our dad healthy. There was a time when we all thought that we were going to lose him. Every night we all went to sleep, scared of not seeing him in the morning. But now he is alright, a little bit weak, but he is becoming better. 

I know that the whole world faces these problems and many of them have even lost their loved ones, which is a loss no one can imagine. I hope everything becomes normal now and people who have lost someone may get peace. This is my experience which I will never forget.
